Growing up I taught myself to play electric guitar from the age of eleven.
I initially started out on the drums at the age of ten and I would definitely recommend all musicians to spend some time doing so as timing and rhythm are essential elements to all music.
I loved blues music as a teenager and spent many a year in and out of bands playing blues, soul, rock and pop and original music in many different places
all over Europe.
It wasn't until I was in my mid twenties that I really fell in love with the acoustic guitar, particularly the Spanish/nylon string.
I loved the music of Django Reinhardt and his influence on many amazing gypsy jazz guitarists particularly Stochelo Rosenberg has in turn had an influence on me.
I immersed myself in the music of Spanish and Latin guitarists and the trio of Paco de Lucia, Aldi Meola and John McLaughlin completely blew me away and opened my eyes as to what could be done on an acoustic guitar and how varied it could be.
I also came across an album called "talking hands" by acoustic mania which featured two fantastic guitarists, Antonio forcione and Neil Stacey and that album really inspired me to play the type of music I do now.
I'd like to think that I've drawn a little bit of the ingredients from all of the music that has inspired me over the years and have created my own flavour which will hopefully be tasteful enough to be consumed by those who give it a chance to be heard.
